Leadership Conferences!

One of my favourite perks of being a leader at W.H Croxford is the awesome events I get to attend! Such as WE Day, Horizons, ASLC and CSLC!

WE Day

October 26th, 2016 &
November 1st, 2017

I was so excited to be apart of WE Day because it is such a positive and amazing experience, the energy was unbelievable. Guest speakers, celebrities, artists, innovators, and passionate people all uniting to break down barriers to make the world a more compassionate and collaborative place. We touched on a lot of sensitive topics such as, racism, bullying, disabilities, mental health, poverty, body image and natural disasters to raise awareness on these challenges that we face every day. In an ever so rapidly changing world we strive to rise above and become leaders that are innovative, creative and collaborative; we call ourselves Generation WE. Our generation and generations to come will be responsible for running the world one day and our future is incredibly important. WE Day emphasizes that every donation and helping hand matters, makes a difference and that our words are more powerful than we think.  This event is life-changing; it makes me super excited to make a difference and proudly lead my peers into a hopeful future.

Alberta Student Leadership Conference

Airdrie, Alberta 2018 &
Lethbridge, Alberta 2019

ASLC is such a unique and amazing experience. For my very first ASLC (2018), I was part of the planning team and spirit leader team! For ASLC 2019 I was a student delegate! This three-day conference was jam-packed with motivational speakers, leadership workshops, games, team-building activities, cheering, and so much more!

My contributions to the ASLC planning process included creating all group names and signs, logo design, swag design, and other little tasks. This process was over a span of several months leading up to the event and the experience overall improved my organization skills and creativity.

As a spirit leader, I was in charge of my own spirit group. This role had responsibilities such as keeping track of team members whereabouts, communicating important information, running team-building events, escorting team members, teaching ASLC cheers and making sure everyone was having fun! This was definitely exhausting but so worth it and I had so much fun with my team and partner. Overall the experience drastically improved my skills as a leader!

Horizons Conference

Cochrane, Alberta 2017 &
Airdrie, Alberta 2018

Leadership conferences are probably the most spirited events ever. I was inspired by the handful of speakers that got to share their story with enthusiastic individuals from around Southern Alberta. Our packed schedules were filled with guest speakers, music, icebreakers, games and event workshops! Emotional, personal and engaging stories from the speakers were truly life-changing. It was super fun and I’m excited to attend future conferences.

Canadian Student Leadership Conference

Edmonton, Alberta 2018

By far one of my favourite leadership conferences ever. This five-day conference in Edmonton was so amazing and absolutely life-changing. Every day was memorable and was filled with experiences that started early in the morning and stretched into the evening. I met so many new people over the five days and got to bond with my spirit group, my billet family and the other Croxford representatives. Over the five days, we got to listen to speakers such as Chris Hadfield, attend lively dances, participate in workshops, walk around fairs, play games, explore Edmonton, attend a banquet and so much more!

HEADSTRONG

Red Deer, Alberta 2019

This experience was extremely eye-opening and tons of fun! I was able to make awesome connections with a diverse group of individuals from every corner of Alberta. Over the few days we addressed mental health, shared personal experiences, and brainstormed initiatives to bring back to our school. Mental Health is important to recognize and by collaborating as a province we were able to strengthen our communities.
